Business banking for CBA customers
If you have a business banking account with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), you can use participating Australia Post retail outlets to:
- deposit cheques of any amount
- deposit cash up to $3,000 a day (selected outlets only*)
- check your account balance.
How to use Bank@Post to do your business banking
To deposit cheques or cash at Australia Post you'll need a barcoded CBA deposit book - CBA will provide you with one upon request. You can check account balances with your CBA transaction card.
Depositing cheques
To deposit a cheque, simply complete a slip from your CBA deposit book.
There is no limit on the number of cheques you can deposit with us in any one transaction. You'll just need to list the specific details for each cheque on the back of your deposit slip. If there's not enough space to record all your cheques, please attach a separate cheque listing to your deposit slip.
All cheques must be made payable to either:
- the name shown on your barcoded deposit slip or
- cash.
We're unable to cash cheques or deposit third party cheques into your account.
Please note that CBA may take up to 5 days to clear cheques banked at Australia Post. If you'd like more information on clearance times, please contact CBA.
Depositing cash
You can deposit up to $3,000 cash per day at selected Australia Post retail outlets* using your CBA deposit book.
We ask that you present notes to us bundled in lots of 10 or 100. Coins should be bagged with only one type of coin per bag.
Checking your account balance
You can check your business banking account balance using your CBA transaction card (your business banking account needs to be linked to this card) and your Personal Identification Number (PIN).
