Barcode Quality Program

What is the Barcode Quality Program?

The Barcode Quality Program (BQP) helps you accurately barcode and print your bulk mailings according to Australia Post guidelines. This is a free service available to all customers.

The program allows you to measure the quality of your barcodes against our barcode specifications, thereby ensuring the seamless and efficient processing of your mailings from lodgement through to delivery.

Services provided under the BQP

Barcode Statement of Capability

The BQP offers a Statement of Capability process that will check your barcoding software and printers to ensure that they are able to accurately produce Australia Post ready barcodes.

The process will also crosscheck the information contained within the barcodes with the DPID (Delivery Point Identifier), customer information and other input parameters.

Self-test barcode-quality tools

Barcode quality tools have been developed to check barcode quality when lodging your mailing. Tools such as hand held scanners and Customer Barcode Check (CBC) templates are available to our customers for self-checking during mail print production. If customers do not have their own scanning capabilities they can send a copy of their article to us (at the address below) and we will scan to check barcode accuracy. CBC templates are provided free of charge to customers.

For more detailed information on the range of services offered under the BQP, download the BQP Guidelines and Terms and Conditions.
