Deliver your documents securely

A safer way to make sure that your important items get delivered to the right person is with Australia Post Secure Collect.

We'll perform an identity check before your customer can collect sensitive or valuable items from one of our 3,300 participating Post Offices across the country.  

Easy steps to a secure delivery

You or your customer can nominate a participating Post Office to act as a collection point for your goods.

Australia Post will help you design a letter to notify your customer that their article is awaiting collection.

3. Send an item to a Post Office Click to expand Click to collapse

Send your item directly to the nominated Post Office. When the item reaches the outlet, it's scanned as "Received at Post Office" and then safely stored until your customer arrives to collect it.

4. Notify your customer Click to expand Click to collapse

Send the Collection Advice to your customer letting them know that their item is ready to be picked up and notify them where, when and how it can be collected.

5. Identity verification Click to expand Click to collapse

When your customer arrives at our Post Office we'll conduct an identity check on your behalf. You can specify the identity verification requirements that must be performed before the item can be collected.

If required, we can collect a payment from your customer for the cost of your goods or service.

We can also administer the signing of a declaration or contract prior to the item collection or service commencement.

8. Hand the item to the customer Click to expand Click to collapse

When all of your collection requirements have been completed satisfactorily, we'll release the item to your customer and ask them to sign a Collection Declaration.

The item will then be scanned as "Collected" and an electronic image of the signed Collection Declaration will be forwarded to you for your records.

  • Registered Post - receive proof the item was sent, when it's lodged over the counter at an Australia Post retail outlet. We'll request a signature upon delivery and you can also request a delivery confirmation.

^ The national next business day delivery network operates between all capital cities (except Darwin and in Perth CBD only) and some major centres. In each state next business day delivery network is available between a number of additional places not included in the national network.
