Staff awareness

Engaging staff members is a fundamental part of every environment program. Recent and ongoing staff awareness initiatives include:

Footprints

We distributed two editions of Footprints, an environmental education newsletter, to our employees, licensees and contractors. The newsletters focussed on saving energy and water at work and at home.

Raising
awareness

A campaign has commenced to encourage staff to reduce energy and water consumption, reduce waste and increase recycling. The campaign involves a competition, posters and staff information bulletins.

Intranet

Our intranet site details our policies, programs and performance. It also provides information that staff members need to fulfil their role, such as relevant environmental legislation and suggestions on ways that people can reduce their environmental impact at work and at home.

Tools for
facility
managers

Facility managers have access to an online Environment Facility Data Tool that includes energy, water, waste and greenhouse gas emissions data for every facility. The tool ensures managers are aware of the impacts from their site and can monitor changes resulting from activities to reduce those impacts.

Associated with the tool is a checklist of opportunities that managers can implement to reduce their environmental impacts.

Licensed Post
Offices (LPOs)

We produced a booklet to assist LPOs in making small, low-cost changes that will collectively make a large contribution to minimising the impact of the retail network.
