Sourcing

Goal: To integrate sustainable sourcing across the supply chain.

We will achieve this by ensuring that we, and our suppliers, support and maintain high environmental, economic and community standards.

Australia Post is developing and implementing a sustainable sourcing program for goods and services purchased by Australia Post.

The program will:

• Provide clear policy direction and procedures in relation to decision-making activities that may impact the organisation's sustainable sourcing practices; in particular commercial versus sustainable impacts.
• Implement sustainability decision-making documentation.
• Roll-out the sustainability sourcing program on a category by category basis.
• Build knowledge and capability to efficiently manage sustainable sourcing related issues throughout the organisation.

We have also revised our tender evaluation approach to ensure that sustainability considerations are taken into account. In addition to our Procurement Policy, a supplier Code of Conduct has also been included in our procurement contracts which sets out Australia Post's expectations of suppliers in relation to our corporate responsibility.
