Australia Post Refund Policy
The products that Australia Post sells to customers must be fit for all the purposes for which goods of that kind are commonly supplied, acceptable in appearance and finish, free from defects, safe and durable.
If the product you buy from Australia Post is faulty, wrongly described, different from a sample shown, does not do what we said it would do, or is not otherwise of acceptable quality, please return it to the retail outlet where you bought it so that we can try to address the issue.
If the product is unsafe, can't be fixed within a reasonable time, or you simply would not have bought it given the nature of the defect, Australia Post will offer you an exchange, repair or refund.
Proof of purchase
To seek an exchange, repair or refund from an Australia Post retail outlet, you will need to prove that you purchased the product there. If you cannot provide a sales receipt, another form of proof of purchase will be required.
If the product is assessed to be faulty or unfit for its intended purpose, any refunds will be paid using the same method as original payment.
If you are unable to return to the retail outlet where you purchased the product, or if you bought it online, please phone 13 13 18 for assistance.
Mobile phones and electronic items
For mobile phones and other electronic items, sometimes technical support over the phone may be all you need.
If your mobile phone or electronic item is not working, Australia Post suggests that you contact the manufacturer or phone company's customer service line for advice and assistance.
For mobile phone network issues or to modify your network plan, please contact the communications supplier.
In some cases Australia Post will need to send the product to the manufacturer or its repair centre on your behalf to determine whether there is a fault or whether the product has been damaged by incorrect use. You may need to provide details of the fault to help the assessment. Products damaged due to incorrect use are not usually eligible for a refund, repair or exchange.
Each return will be considered on its merits given the type of product, its price, the nature of the goods, what we told you it would do and how it was advertised.
