Recycle and help reduce landfill

Electronic waste, such as discarded electrical goods, is increasing at three times the rate of household waste.

  • More than 18 million printer cartridges end up in landfill in Australia each year.
  • Australians upgrade or exchange their mobile phone every 18-24 months.

To address this growing issue, Australia Post is working with Planet Ark and MobileMuster to make it easy for you to recycle used printer cartridges and old mobile phones.

Recycle printer cartridges

To recycle used printer cartridges, you can place them in the "Cartridges 4 Planet Ark" recycling bins located in participating Australia Post retail outlets.

Visit the Recycling Near You website to find your nearest participating Australia Post retail outlet.

Recycle mobile phones

To recycle old mobile phones, batteries, chargers and accessories, collect a free MobileMuster Reply Paid satchel from your local Australia Post retail outlet or download a Reply Paid label from the MobileMuster website. Then simply post your phone in any Australia Post street posting box.
