Corporate Responsibility Policy

Our business is owned by - and operated for - the Australian people.
Our primary corporate objective is to build a sustainable business that provides trusted distribution, communications and transaction services for all Australians, wherever they reside.
We have delivered to Australians for more than 200 years, and we are committed to maintaining our position as the trusted provider of reliable and responsible services that connect Australians to one another - and the rest of the world.
We believe we can build a sustainable business by managing Australia Post in a way that balances the needs and expectations of our four key stakeholder groups - our people, our customers, the Australian community, and our shareholder (the Federal Government).
At the heart of our approach to corporate responsibility is the notion of "balance". In order to satisfy the expectations of our stakeholders, we accept that our business must be managed in a way that balances commercial returns with customer service and community interests.
We already make a significant contribution to the nation through our people, our products and services, our community investment activities, and our extensive retail and delivery networks. We are mindful that there is always more we can do - and we are intent on broadening and enhancing our services for the benefit of all Australians.
The key objectives of our CR Policy are to:
- ensure our long-term sustainability is founded on responsible business practices
- give meaningful consideration to community and environmental impacts and stakeholder expectations when we make decisions
- be open and accountable to our people, our customers, the Australian community and our shareholder on the decisions we make and their impact.
Ultimately, our business success will be determined by achieving a balance of stakeholder satisfaction and sustainable profitability. We commit to annually reporting on our performance in our corporate responsibility report and inviting feedback on our progress from the Australian community and all our stakeholders.

What are some of the practical ways that we can give meaningful consideration to community and environmental impacts and stakeholder expectations when we make decisions?
- understand our social and environmental impacts on the communities in which we operate.
