Australia Post accepts donations for New Zealand earthquake appeal

To assist those affected by the earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand, Australia Post will be accepting donations to the Red Cross New Zealand Earthquake 2011 Appeal via its postal outlets.
Donations will be accepted via cash, cheque or EFTPOS (savings or cheque accounts only) at selected post offices Australia-wide from Tuesday 1 March.
The funds raised through the Red Cross New Zealand Earthquake 2011 appeal will be used to:
- provide earthquake affected communities with emergency relief and recovery assistance
- send specialist aid workers to assist in relief and recovery operations
- support the work of New Zealand Red Cross in assisting people affected by this disaster.
"Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by the disaster. With outlets in cities, towns and rural areas across the country, we are well-placed to accept donations from Australians wherever they live," says Australia Post Executive General Manager Retail Services, Christine Corbett.
