Western Union Money TransferŽ Service

Every year millions of people trust Western Union to support family back home, rescue travellers in emergencies and keep business operating smoothly and this service is now available at your local participating Australia Post outlet.

 

Be safe in the knowledge that each transfer is protected by Western Union's worldwide security system and the money is available at the destination minutes after it has been sent (subject to hours of operation and compliance requirements).

 

Western Union gives you access to over 200 countries and territories, and more than 300,000 agent locations worldwide. 

 

How do I use Western Union Money Transfer® at Australia Post?

 

To send money

 1. Simply go to your local participating Australia Post outlet location* and fill out the form, "To Send Money".
 2. Present your completed form and the money+ to the agent. Depending on the amount you send, you may need to present photo identification. Be sure to get a receipt with the Western Union Money Transfer Control Number.
 3. Inform the receiver of the transfer and the amount of money that you sent. Within minutes (subject to operating hours of agent locations and compliance requirements), the money you sent will be available for payout to your intended recipient at any Western Union agent location worldwide.

 

To receive money

 1. 

Be sure that the money is sent to you through a Western Union agent. Your sender should notify you when the money was sent and the amount.

 2.

Once the sender notifies you, go to your nearest participating Australia Post outlet location*, provide photo identification and fill out the form, "To Receive Money". Be sure to include the sender’s name, country and the amount expected.

 3.

The Australia Post counter officer will then access Western Union's worldwide computer network and check that the money is available for payment to you. Payments in most instances can then be paid in minutes.

The Western Union Money Transfer service is available at over 3,200 participating Australia Post outlets. To find your nearest Australia Post Western Union agent location contact 13 13 18, or use the Post Office locater. The Western Union Money Transfer service is available at outlets displaying the Bank@Post sign.

Payment should be made by cash and/or EFTPOS (Cheque and Savings Accounts only). Financial institution fees and limits may apply.
